The Whitening Process
- 1.Initial Appointment: We assess your suitability for teeth whitening and make sure your teeth are healthy. The dentist will explain how it works and what improvement you can expect so you can make an informed decision.
- 2.Taking Impressions: We take impressions of your teeth. A British-based laboratory will produce an accurate model of your teeth and construct a custom-made, unobtrusive whitening tray which fits snugly over your teeth.
- 3.Second Appointment: We explain how to use the whitening. You normally wear the trays with the whitening gel overnight (or for a few hours during the day) depending upon your dentist's instructions. We give written and verbal step-by-step instructions.
- 4.At-Home Treatment: Use the whitening system at home according to your dentist's instructions, gradually achieving your desired shade over the treatment period.

Important Information
- Whitening is not permanent: We always advise to top up every 1-2 years, but since you have the trays, you can pop into our surgery and buy a whitening syringe to do this easily.
- Sensitivity: Some people can find whitening sensitive, however we always advise on ways to minimise this and will advise you on this at your initial appointment.
- Limitations to be aware of: Remember that whitening will not work on dentures, crowns, veneers, or fillings. Only natural tooth enamel can be whitened.
