Who doesn’t want to have a lovely white smile? Here at Watlington Dental Centre we use a safe and effective teeth whitening system that you can use at home, that is designed to get all your friends talking!
We normally see you for an initial appointment to assess your suitability for teeth whitening and to make sure your teeth are healthy. The dentist will then explain how it works and what improvement you can expect so you can make an informed decision.
The procedure involves firstly taking impressions of your teeth. A British based laboratory will then produce an accurate model of your teeth. Using this model they will construct a custom made, unobtrusive whitening tray which fits snugly over your teeth.
At the second appointment, we will explain how to use the whitening. You normally wear the trays with the whitening gel overnight (or for a few hours during the day) depending upon your dentists instructions. We will give written and verbal step by step instructions on how to use the whitening.
Whitening is not permanent. We always advise to top up every 1-2 years but since you have the trays you can pop into our surgery and buy a whitening syringe to do this.
Some people can find whitening sensitive however we always advise on ways to minimize this and will advise you on this at initial appointment.
Also remember that whitening will not work on dentures, crowns, veneers or fillings.
